Artistic Statement
Steven's art has been inspired by his own varied life experiences gained across three continents. His keen sense of observation and attention to detail is what brings his pieces to life. His natural awe regarding what nature provides means he never runs out of material to capture.
He uses primarily oils and acrylics. His earlier works show his experimentation in enamels He studied Art on the Gold Coast, Queensland under Hugh Sawyer, and later expanded his approach when learning from Jean Sinelaar in Queensland.
His earliest works were predominantly landscapes, and now he considers sea-scapes and the Australian Gum Tree as his favourite topics.
Steven also produces modern pieces, however these are mainly for commissions or when a particular collection of colours catch his attention.
Steven Deutscher artworks are now widely recognized throughout Australia and internationally presented in the UK, Hawaii, USA, Russia and Germany.
His biggest commission being a series of landscapes created for Christopher Skase for Mirage Developments in Queensland, Alice Springs and Korowai.
His works are represented in many Corporate Hotels and Private Collections around the world.
