Sheila was born in the UK and moved to East Africa in the early 50's where she lived in Uganda and then Kenya. She is an avid naturalist with interests in the bird and wildlife. The influence of the many vibrant costal cultures together with the form and elegance of recent and ancient Arab settlements are reflected in her work.
In 1967 Sheila moved to Sydney following a short stay in the UK. Since then she has painted seriously and is now a Fellow of the Royal Art Society of NSW with the guidance of Alan Hansen and Frederic Bates. Sheila's paintings with strong colours and light influences are reflected in her current figurative and abstract works embracing oil, watercolour and pastels.
Today her works are held in private, corporate and municipal collections in Germany, Kenya, Thailand, UK, Zimbabwe, Hong Kong, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, USA, Natal and Australia
